As part of the company’s continuing effort to incorporate artificial intelligence into its product lineup, Microsoft Corporation on Monday combined the technology that underpins ChatGPT with its Power Platform, which enables users to construct apps with little or no coding at all. As a result, Microsoft’s stock surged.
Large technology companies such as Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Baidu Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU) are stepping up their efforts to incorporate generative artificial intelligence (AI). This technology has gained popularity because it can generate human-like text responses to queries about their products and services as quickly as possible.
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced that a series of business intelligence and app-development tools that are part of Power Platform, such as Power Virtual Agent and AI Builder, has been upgraded with the new capabilities.
Power Virtual Agent, a technology that allows organizations to construct chatbots, can now link to internal corporate resources to provide weekly reports and consumer inquiries summaries.
Microsoft stock has also introduced generative AI capabilities to AI Builder, which allows organizations to automate processes, and announced a new edition of its business management platform Dynamics 365 based on the technology. Both of these developments are related to the company’s work with AI.
Dynamics 365 Copilot, the most recent edition of Microsoft’s product that comprises a variety of apps for sales, customer support, and marketing, combines AI to automate some processes, such as data collecting and analysis or creating an email campaign, among other features.
Microsoft also announced on Monday that Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella will conduct an event on March 16 to explore “reinventing productivity with AI.”
The business has only revealed AI improvements for its widely used Windows operating system and the Bing search engine up to this point. The company still needs to release AI updates for its Office productivity suite, which consists of Word and Excel.
